What media player do you guys use? I've been usin XMMS for mp3's, and thats workin well, but I cant seem to find a (good) player that will play all my mpegs, divx, and quicktime files. I know you can. I emerged quicktime4linux and divx4linux. Then I tried mplayer, xmps, aktion, noaton. None open all my movies, in fact none do barely any of them right.
Any suggestions. |

Mplayer has the largest format support and is the most popular. Xine is second up and also supports many formats. These are the two I use for video and they work very well. If you are having problems maybe you can post the specifics; we can try to work them out.
For audio I use XMMS. |

I also recommend Mplayer. It nearly plays everything. It also has tons of options and a nice (beta) GUI. Check it out:

According to a news message to day in the German heise.de magazine, XINE is now able to play Sorenson codecs. Does this mean that you are able to use xine as a plugin for quicktime movies?http://www.heise.de/newsticker/data/nij-21.06.02-000/ _________________ Do you want your posessions identified? I actually haven't ran into a movie I couldn't open with mplayer, of course I'm no giant movie fanatic either. _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |

XMPS now has a plugin to watch divx movies. Now if I could get xmps installed, I would love it |
