Hi, folks!
I haven't found this problem (yet) in any searches, so here goes...
I installed Galeon and along with it came /opt/blackdown-jre-1.3.1. I want to install sun-j2sdk but I get the following:
_______________________________________________________________
root@j_fro etc # emerge --pretend sun-j2sdk
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies /
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy ">=virtual/jdk-1.4" have been masked.
!!! (dependency required by "dev-java/sun-j2sdk-1.4.0-r2" [ebuild])
!!! Error calculating dependancies. Please correct.
_______________________________________________________________
In the ebuild for sun-j2sdk I found:
_____________________________________________________________
DEPEND="${RDEPEND}
app-arch/unzip
>=virtual/jdk-1.4
>=x11-libs/lesstif-0.93.36-r1
!x11-libs/openmotif"
PROVIDE="virtual/jre-1.4.0
virtual/jdk-1.4.0
virtual/java-scheme-2"
_____________________________________________________________
But it looks like they have periods "." out in front where you usually see "#" to comment out things.
How can I satisfy this dependency? _________________ Really, I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect.
