This will allow an easy method of contacting all moderators at one time.
  • Users:
    • If you spot what you believe to be a duplicate post, please post a link to it here. In addition, include a link to what is being duplicated.
    • If you find a post you think belongs in a different forum, let us know.
    • Avoid multiple reports of spam:
      • If a user's posts are all spam, report the user, not the posts.
      • Review this thread after submitting a report. Please delete your report if someone beat you to the punch.
    • Any other post that you think requires moderation (violations of Guidelines, broken BBcode, etc.).

  • Moderators:
    • Please delete posts after you've addressed them.
Thanks in advance.

Reason: Attempting to solicit the violent assassination of the Director of the FBI. To wit:
Quote:
The current FBI chief asshole would like to have included an additional few more backdoors:

Maybe a NRA member could rid ourselves of this asshole?

Topic: Windows update KB2949927. I big warning for linux users
Reason: This is Not Gentoo.
Yes this particular Windows update had issues (and MS pulled it) but the update itself does not hose the MBR/Partition table. Getting out of the bootloop caused by the buggy update *COULD*

Topic: KMail to mutt with Maildir and procmail
Post: post 7634034
Reason: Can you split here please?

Just after "thanks, linked just to the wiki instead." (starting with miror's second quote.)

I've split the actual discussion to topic 1002800 as we've gone way off mutt, maildir and procmail.

Some tidying may be needed; I leave that in your capable hands, with my thanks.

Regards,
steveL.

edit: I pm'ed mir0r to let him know, so he should use the new thread where I replied to him.

Yeah, misspelling your own surname seems like a giveaway, now you mention it. :-)

Post: post 7641332
Reason: Obnoxious systemd political troll. Also, even when not going out of their way to derail topics like these, their replies are often useless or outright misleading. This is making it hard for users to get legitimate help, since it bumps a lot of threads off the zero-replies list, and it's making the rest of us have to work harder to undo the damage.

Topic: Can't emerge -av decibel-audio-player
Reason: Mayhap the Unsupported Software forum would be the best place for this, as it mainly is about installing software that's not in Portage any longer.

Reason: sounds like they're blindly spamming every google search result for a particular filename. Has no relevance whatsoever to the 2-year-old thread they're necro-ing.

Reason: Resurrected a 10-year-old thread to report a self-inflicted configuration problem, which he then solved on his own. The reported post and the one after it have no relation to the ancient thread to which they are attached.
