KDE: Save space by cleaning your .thumbnails directory

Trying to find why I had so little space left on my disk I found the ~/.thumbnails directory, this is the directory KDE uses to save the tmp thumbnails of images.
If you use this feature a lot and you have large image directories as I do, you'll find that this directory will be quite large, I had more that 2.4GB of thumbnails.
Unfortunately there isn't any way to limit the size of this directory.
