As of commit 11, Darimasen now honors all ROX-filer associations (though not unassociated scripts).

this looks really interesting, stupid question though, what directory should the ebuild be put in /usr/local/portage/??/darimasen/
looking forward to trying this out |

It could be put anywhere, but I would suggest /usr/local/portage/x11-misc/darimasen-svn/.

As of commit 12, you now can specify actions for specific mime types, as in "image_jpeg" but not "image".

As of commit 23, there has veen more under-the-hood work than anything else. However, there is some support for proper icons, permission setting, and full ROX-compatible mime-based actions.
(slight mod on the ebuild too)
-Sud.
PS: Incidentally, If open source is about getting other people to do what you don't want to do, then I'm hoping sombody else would like to implement tree navigation. A PM would be good if you'd like my thoughts on the specifications. _________________ ... |

Svn commit 29: Can do navigation again (except for the back button) - With tabs!
Back button & full menu implementation up next - Then we can see how well this actually this system actually works.

dev-cpp/glibmm-2.4.7 is out. And dev-cpp/gtkmm-2.4.11. Unfortunately, the maintainer for those ebuilds hasn't reponded lately. I'd suggest renaming the current ebuilds and using them. (and if its SVN, I'll address the error.)

Really interesting , when one gets used to it it rules. There's alot of things that needs to be added to make it my filemanager of choice. Eg. Single-click opening of files. |

SVN Commit 32: "The Menu Great justice For: Memory eated"
The. Menus. Praise God, the menus. submenu navigation works, except for a menu re-activation bug (click other places, it will work again eventually). It doesn't segfault. It doesn't send you to folders unknown. (That is, it doesn't send me to them) Sure, it eats memory while doing it.
But now I can say, with authority, "That's what I'm talkin' about!"
-Sud.
PS: robust: single clicking is a very easy change that I will get to once all the context menus are placed. Read: around 0.0.8. _________________ ... |

Commit 34: tabs close now. And that is basic support.
Up next: how to handle history with tabs.
And a general question- Should marking "show hidden files" apply to all tabs, or only the current one?

I really don't know what would be the best choice, but having somekind of hotkey is a must. (Can't live without CTRL+H in rox.) |

New screenshot, most of the visual changes for the next tarball have happened by now.
http://darimasen.berlios.de/0.0.7/darimasen_0_0_7.png
SVN Commit 36: History works again in its previous form, on a per-tab basis. THe arrow menu has an option to print this history to stdout, if you want to see what is being stored. It will go away soon enough.
Getting full "Show Hidden Files" back is more difficult than I anticipated. But it will happen before tarball.
robust: CTRL-H. Got it.

SVN Commit 38:
After getting too many headaches, "Show Hidden files" is working via a hack. (don't open more than 20 tabs )
If any c++/gtkmm people would like to submit a patch for properly doing this (either a vector of refrences, or getting the child of a Gtk::notebook tab) I would be grateful. And amazed that you got it to work.

As of Commit 42:
Ebuild has a minor update.
http://svn.berlios.de/viewcvs/*checkout*/darimasen/trunk/darimasen-svn-0.1.ebuild
Dependancies on versions of glibmm/gtkmm newer than currently in portage, ebuilds at https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86163 ... by the time this is ready, it will be standard. (or should I stick with 2.4.x? *shrugs*)
Darimasen has its first icon.
Single click run is enabled, since I figured out how a way to prevent accidental double clicks.
Middle clicking on a directory name opens a new tab.
There is an about Dialogue. (currently the only reason for 2.6.x - there will be more, if I don't get any objections.)
Started working on the 0.0.7 website. A decent start. *waits to show off skills*
----
0.0.7 will coincide with commit 50. If anybody has a repeatable error from SVN, this would be a good time to let me know.

As of Commit 43:
Downgraded the SVN ebuild to gtkmm-2.4.11 - 2.6.x offers cool stuff, but I really should wait until it's in portage.
Oooohhh - look - a correct use of an apostrophe.
Fixed an issue with the menus only going one level deep. Fixed a segfault with show/hide hidden files after closing tabs.
Now if only I could figure out this 'SlotPositionCalc'...

As of Commit 45:
Err... fixed the ebuild for Commit 44. ^_^;; econf apparently couldn't handle the macro from the autopackage people.
The hack for fidden files is gone now! Much more stability now.
The first menu has entries again. Root and Home. Anything more and I'll need somthing to parse configuration files. Or HAL/DBUS support. Not happening now.

Commit 47:
More bugs fixed. Minor issues attended to. Refresh your ebuild.
The menu behavior is the sticking point. Subdirectories shouldn't pop up all over as they do now, they should pop up in the original menus position. Also, they should reset if somthing outside the menu is selected.
Could an amd64 user comment on if it compiles? Make sure to use the latest gtkmm/glibmm.

I can't set file associacions - are they implemented yet? Or would I have to set them through rox (which I don't have installed)? _________________ Non fa male! Non fa male! |
