|
|
Hi all,
I searched via Deja and in the Forum but couldn´t find a solution. The only solution I could find was that I should use a -mysql in the use Flags. But I need MySQL, so I won´t use it.
This Error is what I get when I do a emerge pure-ftpd. It says:
| Quote: |
[...]
checking for mysql_init in -lmysqlclient... no
configure: error: libmysqlclient is needed for MySQL support
!!! ERROR: net-ftp/pure-ftpd-1.0.18-r1 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 449, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed
|
I tried to do a revdep-rebuild -v to "repair" if something is broken but it then tries to emerge pure-ftpd, because the dependencies to libmysqlclient.so.12 are broken. I reemerged mysql, but it did not fix my problem. Then I added "/usr/lib/mysql/" to the ld.so.conf. But again... nothing.
I am sure it is very easy to solve my problem, but I am a noob _________________ cu...

| join the club. seems the new mysql doesn't build or maybe install libmysqlclient.so.12 correctly, downgrade to mysql-4.0.22 (I think that's the last one) |

Thanks for your replys. Seems that the Problem is fixed with the latest mysql Version. I did a emerge sync and a revdep-rebuild again and it emerged a new MySQL Version. Then the other Packages emerged fine too.
Thx _________________ cu...

| I did an emerge sync and this bug really bit me bad. I'm trying 4.0.22 instead of 4.0.22-r2 to see if the correct libs are found in /usr/lib. I'll report back. |

copy all files under your $PREFIX/lib/mysql to /usr/lib will solve this problem. |

| Sorry to bump a very very old thread but i wanted to add that this problem still occurs. Re syncing portage and running revdep-rebuild fixed the problem for me. If you still run into this try this first =) |
