I tried installing Suse Linux off the Internet. It got stuck in the middle somewhere.Installing off the Internet is for the birds.

I'm game for a meet-up also. I live just outside London however can travel.

Guess someone needs to take the lead and fix time/day and place.

Count me in.

Just Outside Liverpool. Don't know if I will be able to contribute much due to shift work, and travel might be a problem but a UK Gentoo User Group sounds good to me !
No one means all he says, and yet very few say all they mean, for words are slippery and thought is viscous.

I'm interested in this, not sure how much i'd be able to contribute as i'm quite new to Linux & Gentoo in particular.
As for a meeting place, would it not make sense to meet somewhere in the midlands? That would seem to be fair, suggest Birmingham as it's pretty central.

Not sure there are enough "users" to form one, plenty of ex-installers though

UK Gentoo Ex Installers Group - UKGEIG - almost beyond being pronounced without inducing self throttling in the speaker, so that'd be the name of choice as these things normally go!

Two of us in the same town? Scarey or what! :P

I live in Guernsey which kind of excludes me from the meetings in the sense that it would mean flying or boating to get to one. Bugger. Would if I could, but I'll help out with anything if needed ;)

Back again after a long time away - loads of work had to be done

If okay with others I do not mind speaking to the Gentoo.org team and finding out what is required to be able to use uk.gentoo.org. What do you think ?

Another UK (new user) here, Herts, UK.

This thread seems to have died a bit of a death, but I'd be interested in UK specific mailings, meets, etc.

Edinburgh and Glasgow are dead easy for me. London too, since there're cheap flights there if I book a few weeks in advance. Manchester is tricky for anyone who's not on the right side of the rail network...
