So started fooling around with Gentoo/OSX (long time Gentoo users on X86, and have a full PPC installation on this same machine with a different drive). I set keywords for Imagemagick, compiled it no problem. When I try to do:
Code: | display somepic.jpg |
It complains, returning the error:
Code: | display: X Window library is not availbale `'. |
I definitely do have the X11 system running, I'm launching display from an X11 term, and I've set xhost + just in case. What gives?

Did you install the X11SDK from Apple before you compiled imagemagik? |

Yes, and as stated I was running the X11 system at the time (I launched display from an x-term instead of Apple terminal).
I fiddled with making X a root based window or not, but it didn't make a difference.
