I'm trying to install Gentoo Linux for the 1st time and I'm using a Compaq Presario 1685 Laptop with a Xircom Cardbus Ethernet card.
I can't seem to get pass the detect pcmcia portion of the installation.
Is there any Official Gentoo Linux Supported Hardware list that I can refer to check whether my hardware is supported ? As well as which driver should I load ?
Thanks ! |

Gentoo doesn't really have an official supported hardware list. Basically anything that will work in any Linux distro will work in Gentoo (sometimes it works easily, other times it is a big pain ).
I don't have the card, but I suggest you take a peek at http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/ftp/SUPPORTED.CARDS and http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net
Hopefully that should get you pointed in the right direction. _________________ - Kyle Manna
