Hi,

anyhow I can't get my Hauppauge WinTV PVR-pci working completely. I can see and change the television channels but I'm not able to hear anything. Even gnomeradio finds all possible radio stations, but I cannot hear any programm. I've fetched some Infos for you, maybe anybody can help me?

Alsa is working!
With Win.. the card runs perfect. (apart from the quality of some channels, which is under linux much better)

Any Ideas ?

I have the exact same problem when using the latest gentoo-sources, I'm currently using gentoo-sources-2.6.11-r8, with this kernel I have both sound and video.

It seems that other people have the same problem, http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5160

have you got exactly the same card? I'm wondering, because with my old kernel (2.6.11-r5) I had the same Problem, that's why I changed to the 2.6.12-r6 sources (both gentoo-sources). Is that possible, that another kernel release between those two works?
Do you load a firmware via hotplug for the bttv drivers?

I do have a Hauppauge card, although not a PVR model. I tried a few gentoo-sources-2.6.12-gentoo-rX, and it always resulted in the same problem, gnomeradio shows that i'm listening to a station in stereo, but i can't hear it. I don't have this problem with 2.6.11-gentoo-r8.

ok, maybe I should try this kernel-source too.
And the msp34xx driver ist integrated in this kernel?
Because I think I'm missing this one.
Was the msp34xx support a extra option in the kernel ?
