Looks like that would be a trivial hack. All you need to do is replace 4 images in the hot-babe source tree... _________________ Back again... |

Yes, but the trick then becomes finding a hot guy! There aren't very many of them, you know. _________________ Distcc guide

The way I see it, the "offensive" USE flag is mainly a convenience thing to prevent people from unintentionally having trouble. I say, let there be ebuilds for everything and let the user decide what to emerge. If they're offended - don't emerge it. _________________ http://tommy.impulsestorm.com/ |

USE="offensive"
Fuck shit crap piss ass cunt cock bitch.......
Im offended by people who are offended. Everybody always talks about rights and freedom of speech. Well how about the freedom to-shut-the-fuck-up-and-leave-if-you-dont-like-what-you-see.
Geez, offended people are so annoying.
According to the article, hotbabe could be considered by some as "pornographic, sexist, offensive..."
WTF!? Why is a naked DRAWN woman sexist? Why is a depiction of a naked woman sexist? Or offensive? Whats the big deal with naked tits? Were moralists and christians never breast fed?
I think the world would be a much better place if women HAD to be topless, and guys HAD to be crotchless. Just a whole lot of soothing jiggling going on. Its.....so.....hypnotic......
Besides, can you imagine getting mugged or attacked by someone with crotchless pants? If they try to aim and shoot, you point and laugh!
Jiggle bells, jiggle bells........
Actually that reminds of a tribe we learned about in my University's anthropology course. I think the tribe was the Yannomami or something like that and they lived in the amazon rainforest. Well the men of that tribe would be completely naked, except for a piece of string that they tied around their waist, and with which they fastened their forskin to their stomachs, so that their penis was always flat against their stomach.
Now the funny thing about this was that wearing your penis like that was acceptable behaviour, but it was a very embarassing situation if your penis should come undone and flop down.
That was considered a definate no-no.
I guess I can see the wisdom in that. Its probably only decent and polite that whenever a woman sees a man, that he be salutin'!
Now lets get back to that hypnotic jiggling............. |

1. go to http://images.google.com
2. type in a few nasty words
3. click "search images"
4. click what you like
5. right click "see full sized image" link and save to disk somewhere
6. fire up gqview or somesuch
detailed enough? |

Even easier is to do a search for TGP ... are some people really resorting to images.google for those pics? Jeez...
And btw, someone was asking why nudity was considered offensive and violence not. It's rather an US-thing to see it that way, in Germany for example nudity and swearing in tv/radio is not cosidered that much of an offense. You can see bare breasts at 7pm and watch amazed US-stars as they say "fuckfuckfuck" on TV with noone getting a nervous breakdown. On the other hand many fps like Halflife and the such had to be censored to be allowed to be sold publicly, others were banned from open commerce entirely (meaning only shops closed to minors may sell them at all).
I guess every society is different, there are some that disallow all sex and violence, some that allow either and some that allow everything - the Netherlands being one of them I think, even I was amazed to see what kind of postcards they sell in public there, real hardcore-pornography.... |

It seems to be that violence is sensibly more offensive. _________________ http://tommy.impulsestorm.com/ |

Actually it's rather a Christian thing to see it that way.
Have you read the Bible? It's full of violence. But sexual sins are a huge taboo for Christians. |

I think the offensive use flag is a good idea, people that want/don't mind backdrops with nudity installed in their theme packages can get them and people that don't (or run a system where things like that can get you into trouble) don't need to worry about it. _________________ "Someday, he thought, it'll be mandatory that we all sell the McDonald's hamburger as well as buy it; we'll sell it back and forth to each other forever from our living rooms. Guys, I wrote this script for fun and wondered if anyone would like to provide constructive criticism since I might reuse parts of the code for third-party ebuilds in the future. It's a perl script that holds someones' hand if they don't already have a portage overlay set up. Oh, and I wrote an updated ebuild for this package (renamed the file ).

Holy Jeebus have you looked at the date of this thread?? Besides what did you have in mind when you searched for "hot-babe" on the gentoo forums? There are no hot babes here only males _________________ It isn't enough to win - everyone else must lose, and you also have to rub it in their face (maybe chop off an arm too for good measure).

| Since this thread seemed to get pulled ot of hybernation, I recently had a problem when doing an emerge -e world. The hot-babe packaged failed with an md5 checksum error. I figured maybe they updated things, so I re-downloaded it and I still got the error. I'm not sure whats going on with the ebuild... |
