Dead CD-R?

I think my cd-r is dead. Whenever i put a disk in it the light flashes and keeps flashing until i take the disk out. i can't burn to it. To be honest i can't remember it fit still mounts or not. It died all of a suddon. I burned a cd fine yesterday. Today the drive won't work.

I try a data cd. it works file.
I put in an RW. It works i try to burn. cdrdao (correctly) says the disk has been written to and ejects it. I put the disk back in to blank it and the frive acts up. It keeps blinking the light and i can't bunr. I swap disks a few times and all of a suddon one works. It's burning now. This still looks like a pending drive failure. Do i need to worry? Did i just have a bunch of bad disks? They're new so they shouldn't be bad.
