i just realized somethin , when" emerge world " (-u;--update)will not get all the upgrades
today i did a emerge -p gtk+ and gave me the new upgrade
i did some other ebuilds in the last two days also ,dont remeber their name though
i am using ~x86

Probably gtk+ was installed due to a dependancy and you didn't do it by yourself. As far as I know it's normal then, that gtk+ will only be updated with a 'emerge -u world' if there's a dependancy requiring a higher version. |

I agree with phelan. If you want to pick up such packages, that were installed as dependencies, but do not have depednents in the world file with pending upgrades, then you might want to try "emerge -up --deep world". _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
