|

Hi,
I want to install a simple generic gentoo base install on several different computers with no network access (a primary school environment)
I would like to create a
generic 386 base install
with a few additional applications
and an X/gnome environment
then I would like to copy it (via a CD or external harddrive) on the target machines
Questions
Is this a possible and sound strategy?
Or should I try a different approach (perhaps a customized Knoppix)?
Thanks in advance for your advice

In the meantime:
Ubuntu is a perfect solution for me for the mentioned requirements.
(while I still like my customized gentoo on my ibook and for using my wacom intuos 3)
regards
