Does anyone know of an ebuild that downloads an rpm, converts it to tar.gz and unpacks content? The contents don't need compiling, just proper placement of content into /usr (it's a plugin).
There's 100,000 ebuilds. I thought I'd ask before searching..

rpm2targz?
If you want an ebuild that does this, try ati-drivers. |

rpm2tgz will convert it to a tar file and you can do whatever you need with that. You can also install rpm, but using it will require a bit of work getting the dependencies taken care of. |
