after installing the basics of gentoo, i have trouble installing kde. Before resolving dependencies, i get warnings from a couple of kde-packages
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "Sysdevel/ld.so" ( from ebuild / kde-base/<kde-package> merge)
After a long download and compilation-process, i receive a message that kde didn't install.
I did emerge Gnome. It did install, but after starting, i got an almost empty desktop and warnings that it can't find the root (/) directory or the /home directory.
I suppose ebuilds are missing, or gentoo can't find them. Can someone help me please

Try "emerge rsync" then "emerge kde"
..also..
For trying times like this, the "rmerge2" utility allows you to perform an "emerge" without having to do it from scratch again! rmerge2 uses what's already available but not necessarily installed whereas emerge doesnt!! _________________ Someone told me that "..they only ever made one mistake...."
...and that's when they said they were wrong!! |
