Denu 2.0 - GUI based menu editing.

There's no error per say. I get the following output in my console.

Seems to work now, and find installed apps to include into the menu.

Are there plans to load current WM config files so you can edit them instead of just remaking them?

fvwm, I'll look into. I could make it convert regular menu files to denu structure. Its a matter of how consistent menus are. Its an idea thats been brought up but I havn't made up my mind on how I'm going to go about doing it.

I installed the latest version and did the "update" "sysupdate"
Then "autofill". I ran the generate and selected gnome. All the folder options show up in my menu but no program entries. The programs are there in denu but not in gnome. Any ideas on where I should look to fix this?

btw: There were no errors in the console output.

Just noticed .xsession-errors shows

Change denu_denu_ to denu_ in that file, does that fix it?

that would be the reason. Nice catch. Give me a minute and I'll release a fix.

EDIT: Okay, 2.2.2 is out and it shoudl be fixed. It was the denu_denu_. Thanks.

I'm glad it worked. Thanks for letting me know. Some errors I dont find because I only use denu for fluxbox. I do test on gnome, kde, etc. but dont use them regularly.

You can try removing home/.gnome2/vfolders/applications.vfolder-info. If that does not work copy /etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/vfolders/applications-all-users.vfolder-info to home/.gnome2/vfolders as applications.vfolder-info or as applications-all-users.vfolder-info. That simple, huh? That took care of it.

I don't know if this has been reported but I had the same problem as SPY_jmr1 initially, then I got the fix in v2.2.2. But even then the icons for the entries in the menu were pretty much all missing. That goes for xfce as well, icons that show up in the original gnome menu are missing from the one created by denu. Dunno if that's a bug but just thought I would mention it.

Yeah, icons are pretty sparse to start with. However, with the release of 2.2, I believe, you can set icons to what you wish. Click an entry in the menu side of denu and click edit. There you can customize everything. We'll try to get more icons in the database, we've been focussing on programs without icons.

okay I must be a complete moron

I got 2.2.2 to build fine, no errors nothing... running denu is great, generate the kde menu...done... okay.

How do I get the menu to appear on screen ?!?!

I am using kde 3.3.2 and I assume denu replaces the default right-clk. I assume this because I don't see it explicitly stated anywhere. I've loged out/in, restarted xorg... I still cannot see the denu-generated menu.

pls help this confused soul :oops:

To use it with KDE is a little more difficult than simply generating. Do this:

Just a quick update. I posted on Sourceforge the .p file to use with Fluxbox .9.12 with icons. I used it myself so it SHOULD work. Simply place it in /usr/share/denu/wm .
