Just wondering why so many posts in the forums stated (when making kernel) something only work as modules and not when compiled in kernel.
USB seems to be one of them. Also alsa, another.
Correct me if I am wrong. |

ive got usb working perfectly well compiled in, and alsa source is seperate modules _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

I guess that's because some programs rely on the modules, like hotplug.
But I haven't had problems with PCMCIA and USB compiled in my kernel. |
