Hi,
yes I tried the search function but man those forums get really crowded. Search results are nearly as bad as a google search for linux So please have my apologies for a question already posted...
I'd like to install alsa 0.9.0_rc6 but my system defaults to rc2. I can't find the rc6 being masked. Why would the default be rc2? Why does ebuild prefere rc2 over rc6?
Thanks! |

This doesn't have much to do with ALSA really. In the r6 ebuild, KEYWORDS="~x86" is set. The ~ masks the package. _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

because it uses KEYWORDS="~x86" (which means it is part of the unstable packages for x86). You may emerge it using
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge alsa-libs
But I'd stick with the stable version, unless you have a good reason not to.
