Okey. I got that UT installed, but it won't start for some reason.

Code:

bash-2.05b$ ut
Unreal engine initialized
Bound to SDLDrv.so
Joystick [0] : Unknown Joystick
SDLClient initialized.
Bound to Render.so
Lighting subsystem initialized
Rendering initialized
LoadMap: Entry
Bound to Fire.so
Case-insensitive search: Botpack -> ..\System\BotPack.u
Bound to IpDrv.so
appError called:
Class Actor Member Owner problem: Script=48 C++=52
Executing UObject::StaticShutdownAfterError
Executing USDLClient::ShutdownAfterError
Signal: SIGIOT [iot trap]
Aborting.
Exiting.
Name subsystem shut down
bash-2.05b$

Any ideas?

Do you have all the 32-bit emulation libraries installed?

That's... really strange... I have the same exact error when I try to run unreal.... and UT runs fine (better than fine) for me... What version of UT did you install? Mine is 451.

Yes I have every 32-bit libraries installed (why everybody thinks that I don't have them? If something ain't working in amd64 then sollution for every problem is installing 32bit emul libraries. HELLO WORLD! I have used Linux since 1997 and Gentoo for couple years. And other games like Ut2k3 and Doom3 are WORKING!) 8)

Anyway. I have installed newest orginal UT patch. It's 451. ;)

And I can't get this. If you say that you have working UT then I don't get why Unreal ain't working. It's the same software. :?

I could give five euros for solving this problem. And It don't mean that I have to install 32bit gentoo or 32bit emul libraries(I already have them installed).

Here is how to get it working on amd64. just emerge it by path. It means that you must do:

Code:

emerge /usr/portage/games-fps/unreal-tournament/unreal-tournament-451

It will merge it and then it just works. Oh man, I am sooooo happy. :D :D :D :D

Just forget about Loki-installers those suck cause they don't have support for x86_64

Code:
#emerge /usr/portage/games-fps/unreal-tournament/unreal-tournament-451
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "/usr/portage/games-fps/unreal-tournament/unreal-tournament-451".

This doesnot work for me. I am having the same problem so can you please help me.

AnXa: Thank you very much, I have been struggling with this exact problem. It is installing as we speak, whether or not it will run is a different story!

<3: Append .ebuild into -451

Code:

soulmata64 soulmata # emerge /usr/portage/games-fps/unreal-tournament/unreal-tournament-451.ebuild
emerging by path implies --oneshot... adding --oneshot to options.

*** emerging by path is broken and may not always work!!!

Does this mean my cd is scratched or something? I don't understand why I get this error I have no problem reading the cd through gentoo.

The emerge system is using a not-default installer or patch though, I had lots of package mismatches when joining servers. Using the offiicial loki installer and patch 451 made it all go away. Eventhough it might be valid packages there are cheats that are based on the same packages, which made me emerge -C quickly. :o

The loki installer works fine when you issue export SETUP_CDROM=/path/to/cdrom export _POSIX2_VERSION=199209 before starting.

*** You are emerging a masked package. It is MUCH better to use
*** /etc/portage/package.* to accomplish this. See portage(5) man

The following license outlines the terms of use of this
package.  You MUST accept this license for installation to
continue.  When you are done viewing, hit 'q'.  If you
CTRL+C out of this, the install will not run!

This is a generic place holder for a class of licenses that boil down to do
no guarantees and all you get is what you have. The language is usually
similar to:

Permission to use, copy, modify, and distribute this software and its

You will need to check the license that came with the software for the exact
specifics. Generally you are free to do most anything you want with "as is"
software but you should not take this license as legal advice.

Note: Most all license have an "as is" clause. For our purposes this does
not make all software in this category. This category is for software with
very little restrictions.

The information in this license about licenses is presented "as is". :-P

It should wait for you to read the license, exit the reader and press yes/no.

Weird, solved it by leaving the ".ebuild" after it...
