I'm looking for a way to turn message buffering on/off. If I type
> killall USR1 metalog
> USR1: no process killed
then message buffering is turned off, but I cannot turn it back on with
> killall USR2 metalog
> USR2: no process killed
> metalog: no process killed
Furthur USR1 signals sent to metalog now give a similar output as for USR2 signals:
> USR1: no process killed
> metalog: no process killed <-- notice this line
Also, when I reboot/poweroff after a USR1 signal has been sent I get:
[!!] unable to stop metalog
among the shutdown messages (stopping daemons, deactivating swap etc).
Any tips would be hugely appreciated. |

It should be: | Code: | | killall -USR1 metalog | (You're forgetting the hyphen).
Moving to Other Things Gentoo, since it's not a networking or security issue. _________________ "An empty head is not really empty; it is stuffed with rubbish. Hence the difficulty of forcing anything into an empty head."
