I have a Lexmark E232 using the pxlmono driver. When I set the printer up and try to print a test page, nothing happens (note, I have had this printer working on my previous computer using Gentoo). localhost:631 says "Unable to start filter "foomatic-rip" - No such file or directory."
Here is what /var/log/cups/error_log says:

It came to my attention that footmatic-filters were not pulled in as a dependency. After emerging them all is well |

Thanks for posting this ... I had the same problem with a Ricoh Aficio 1060, and emerging net-print/foomatic-filters worked for me. |
