Hey all,
Well as the topic says, sometimes when i boot my gentoo system, it just hangs at Caching Service Dependency. I dont know y it does it.
It has been sugested to me that i left devfs out of the kernel but i checked and that is all there and fine.
It works ok sometimes but other times it just hangs. I have tried changing the ram, HDD's and other parts of the hardware but still no luck.
The system is a Keyboard/Mouse/Screen less system, it only has power and 1 network interface, and then internaly it has onboard vidcard, and 2 hdd's 128 mb ram and a cd drive and fdd drive.
When it does boot, it works fine and with no problems, but when it hangs, i have to press the reset button or turn the power off to get it to work. Sometimes 2 or 3 times.
If anyone has had this problem or thinks they know what the cause is, please reply and let me know. I will try whatever i can to fix this. It is not that bad, but it makes it a bit of a pain if the power goes out and i am offsite....
Thanks for any help
