I am just updating my system and world, but when emerge reaches openssh I get the following error:

Code:

checking for pam_set_item in -lpam... yes
checking for pam_getenvlist... yes
checking for pam_putenv... yes
checking whether pam_strerror takes only one argument... no
checking OpenSSL header version... 90704f (OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004)
checking OpenSSL library version... 90703f (OpenSSL 0.9.7c 30 Sep 2003)
checking whether OpenSSL's headers match the library... no
configure: error: Your OpenSSL headers do not match your library.
Check config.log for details.
Also see contrib/findssl.sh for help identifying header/library mismatches.

However I could not find the contrib/findssl.sh script.

I tried unmerging and reemerging both openssh and openssl, but the problem is still the same.

I synced and updated portage and deleted the openssl and openssh sources in /usr/portage/distfiles.

I even tried the unmerge und reemerge in single user mode after I checked with lsof that none of the openssl libraries is used.

Even when installing bot the openssl and openssh packages amnually I still get this error message.

Can someone please enlighten me, why the openssl library is aperrently version 90703f and the headers are version 90704f?

How do I get openssl to install now?
Or, how do I find out what is wrong ???
I am using my 32bit version in the 32bit linux tree right now, but would very much like to get it to recompile for amd64.

Please help

Problem solved, openssh saw the libcrypto.so in /lib, insted of the new version in /usr/lib.
Copied over old versions with new versions.
Works fine now.
