|
|
Hi-
I am currently in the process of emerging INN, and I was wondering how you set it up to mirror USENET groups, like an ISP would? My ISP (a local college) does not subscribe to certain binary groups like MP3 groups and I would like my gentoo box to get those. Is there any kind of tutorial on something like this or a webpage that explains it, because I haven't been able to find anything? Thanks. |

Basically, if you cannot get the newgroups you want without installing your own INN, you won't be able to get them with INN. I mean, you have to get them somewhere to pipe them into your own INN.
It's been a while since I've been running my own newsserver, and I only used leafnode, but I had to tell it where to pull the news from. I am pretty sure you will have to tell your INN also where to get your news from.
Yours,
Larde. _________________ Someday this will be my home... http://moonage.net/

drop inn, get leafnode or nntpcache. both are easier to configure, smaller footprint, and suposely more secure than inn. inn is something for big sites, not very usefull for small local news-servers ... |
