I got a little yucky problem with uname -r. Since I copied over the .config file from before re-formatting my root partition, uname -r displays "2.4.19-openmosix-7" instead of "2.4.19-openmosix-r8" as it is named in /usr/src and also in the menuconfig. I even unmerged the kernel, rm'ed the whole /usr/src/linux dir, re-emerged and re-compiled, but still that yucky error is there.
So, I can't modprobe/insmod = I got no nvidia-kernel & alsa. What's causing this and how can I fix this? (Maybe a typo in the 2.4.19-r8-gentoo.diff.tar.gz?)

Is /boot a separate partition? Was it mounted when you installed the kernel? _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

It actually wasnt mounted when I compiled the kernel (it should have been, but the automounter didnt do so), but I already solved the problem. Thanks anyways
