ok, first, when i run startx i get two errors
failed to load groupfile
and
cannont load mints-stong font
im running x4.2.1 and fluxbox0.1.13
where can i get the mints strong fonts and how do i fix the first problem
also
i just emerged mozilla today, god did it take a long time on my 1.4ghz system, but anyways, i noticed it was only mozilla 1.0, is that ok, or should i upgrade to the current, and how would i do that with emerge?
thanks

the groups file contains info on autogrouping tabs.
If you don't use this feature, then you can safely ignore the error message, or you could just create an empty file called groups in ~/.fluxbox/
Check the fluxbox tabs docs for more info. |

there are masked ebuilds for mozilla 1.1 and 1.2beta, so you could install them by giving emerge the full path, like | Code: | | emerge /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla-1.1-r1.ebuild |
but presumably they're masked for a good reason.
Besides, why use mozilla when you could use phoenix. |

1.1 is fine; emerge it if you want since it has a lot of good new features and is very stable. The only issue I know is maybe Galeon compatibility, but even that has been fixed for 1.1 at least I think.
The reason I use Mozilla over Phoenix is because I like its mail. I switched from Kmail and Evolution a while ago.
For some reason the ebuilds for all post 1.0.x Moz builds have been permanently masked and there also seems to be little drive to support the newer Moz's.
Anyone else heard the rationale behind Gentoo's handling of the stable/unstable split branches in Moz? |
