So far, it's working just fine if I use just NVTV -g (without any changes to XF86Config). However, after using mplayer with just XV, the problem crops up. I took a Screenshot so you can get the idea. The only solution was to use x11 which works really well but no resizing! :(

The card btw is a Geforce 3 Ti200.

However, I don't understand why xine requires the following:

Code:

emerge media-libs/xine-ui -p

These are the packages that I would merge, in order.

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild  N   ] net-nds/portmap-5b-r6
[ebuild  N   ] app-admin/fam-oss-2.6.9
[ebuild  N   ] kde-base/kdelibs-3.0.4-r1
[ebuild  N   ] media-libs/xine-lib-0.9.13-r2
[ebuild  N   ] media-video/xine-ui-0.9.13

Erm.. portmap? fam? kdelibs??? I don't believe I would really need them? At this point, I'm not going to put xine on if it requires all those :/ Unless, you tell me that it really requires those.. I've tried putting "'-kdelibs -portmap -fam-oss" but it still pop up with those :(

Quick help anyone?

Do you have -kde in your USE-variables?
The xine-homepage says this are the requirements:

zlib, libpng (including headers -> developer packages), gnu make, optional: aalib.

Otherwise, install xine-lib and xine-ui with the option --nodeps
Examening the ebuilds I found that fam-oss is a dep of kdelibs and portmap on it's turn is a dep of fam-oss. The xine-lib ebuild states that it needs kde-libs if you have arts in your USE-variables. So put -kde -arts in it ;-)

Ah ha. That did the trick. Must remember 'arts' next time. What a pita! Cheers!
