Figured I'd stick this here rather than Desktop, as its not very support based... admin, feel free to move it if you wish

I'm curious what people consider the best Desktop/UI font? Ive been using Verdana, and am (somewhat) happy, but do others have better suggestions? What do you use for a desktop font?

I'm using Trebuchet as I find it is a clean and very readable font even when using 1600x1200 resolution. My monitor is a 21" Sony Trinitron.

Your preference may be different from mine, but I really like a clean and nice font. I have seen a lot of screenshots of people's desktops, but I can't say i really like all the fancy fonts. They are very tireing if you are going to use the PC for work 8 hours a day.

Moving from Gentoo Chat as it's not directly Gentoo related.

I use Arial, Helvetica, and Tahoma. :)

Tahoma, definitely -- but then the new XFree ebuild screwed up my antialiasing settings and made it slightly more silly looking. Which is unfortunate. But it's still a good font...

Trebuchet rulez (thanks MS) - I use it for my primary font. Tahoma's nice too, but it's not one of the free font pack fonts (you need to get it from some copy of Windows, which most people do have). Arial is the most general purpose, widely avaiable, nice sans-serif font. Helvetica is nasty.

I like using Tahoma/Verdana for desktop environments. Trebuchet was OK, I probably needed to get used to it, but I like it in general. The only problem is it seems that Tahoma only has normal and bold fonts? Even winxp seems to only have normal and bold.
