Hi.
I'm having some difficulties during shutting down on Gentoo 1.4.
When I do shutdown or reboot from KDE, X or what ever, my screen turn black. This means that I can't see the shutdown progress....and see what is happening during shutdown/reboot.
My configuration; ATI Rage 128, Dell Optiplex 240GX (ACPI).
I am using the same XF86Config-file now, which I also used in Gentoo 1.1a. In Gentoo 1.1a there were no problems.
My kernel is configured with framebuffer for ATI, vga console builtin the kernel. Could this be a problem for XFree-4.2.1?
Is XFree-4.2.1 so different from XFree-4.2.0, which I believe was the XFree-release in Gentoo-1.1a?
I did also have problems with time-synchronization, but this problem is gone after updating from gentoo 1.1a to gentoo 1.4.
Best Regards,
