nvidia and x fonts

Ok so I gave up on ATI ever getting their act together and releasing 64 bit drivers so I forked out the $s for a geforce 5700
after emerging and setting up the drivers and rebooting into x for some reason the fonts have become huge.
The only things I altered in my xorg.conf was to change the driver to nividia and to enable glx

Any ideas anyone?
