emerging php I get :

Code:

root # emerge php mod_php
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 2) dev-php/php-4.3.9 to /
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) php-4.3.9.tar.bz2
>>> md5 src_uri ;-) php-4.3.6-includepath.diff

....

checking for dbm_open in -lndbm... yes
checking for NDBM support... yes
checking for db4 major version... configure: error: Header contains different version

!!! ERROR: dev-php/php-4.3.9 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 362, Exitcode 1
!!! econf failed

anyone has seen this ? (possibly not a x86-64 only bug)

When I run this:
Code:
# emerge -av db php

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild   R   ] sys-libs/db-4.3.27  -bootstrap -doc -java -nocxx -tcltk 0 kB [1]
[ebuild     U ] dev-php/php-4.3.11 [4.3.9] -X +berkdb +crypt -curl -debug -doc -fdftk -firebird -flash -freetds +gd -gd-external +gdbm -gmp -hardenedphp +imap -informix +ipv6 +java +jpeg -kerberos +ldap -mcal +memlimit -mssql +mysql +ncurses +nls -oci8 +odbc +pam -pdflib +png -postgres -qt +readline +snmp +spell +ssl +tiff +truetype +xml2 -yaz 0 kB

Total size of downloads: 0 kB
Portage overlays:
 [1] /usr/local/portage

Do you want me to merge these packages? [Yes/No]

I get this:
Code:
...
checking for dbm_open in -lndbm... yes
checking for NDBM support... yes
checking for db4 major version... configure: error: Header contains different version

!!! Please attach the config.log to your bug report:
!!! /var/tmp/portage/php-4.3.11/work/php-4.3.11/config.log

!!! ERROR: dev-php/php-4.3.11 failed.
!!! Function econf, Line 485, Exitcode 0
!!! econf failed
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.
Yes, db is from the overlay because I have attempted to modify it so that emerge php would stop complaining about it.
