dmfe problem

pretty strange network connection problem. It worked fine with gentoo 1.2 but with gentoo 1.4rc1 it worked during installation but NOT after rebooting the new system. the ethernet card is davicom( module dmfe).

1. "modprobe dmfe "during gentoo 1.2 worked but not worked with gentoo 1.4rc1

2. "ping gentoo.org" gave "unknown host" (1.4rc1)

3. "ifconfig" gave "error fetching interface information: Device not found"

Ok. Now I allowed dhcpd manually with:

# dhcpcd eth0

then the connection started to click.

But if I used static ip, it did not work as bvefore. thinsg get more and more interesting!
