I was wondering if there is any easy way to upgrade the kernel sources and keep my old configuration from the previous version?
Currently every time I upgrade to a new kernel version, I must re-enter my entire configuration using "make menuconfig". Is there an easier way to upgrade kernel versions??
Thanks in advance, _________________ The K-Man |

Yeah, that menuconfig step lets you save your results off to another file, or (if I'm not mistaken) the normal file is just '.config' and you can copy it off and reuse it later.
Do a quickie search here for 'oldconfig'
And for the record, the actual sources are usually kept seperate and just the /usr/src/linux symlink points to the desired version... _________________ Linux user off and on since circa 1995 |
