Hey all,
anyone know if a dell power edge 2200 (Dual P II 233) with about 512ram will be ok for a CS server ? |

yes, that will be fine. For awhile I had a Pentium 3 450mhz as a cs server. Then I had an athlon XP as one. You just have to make sure that you take advantage of the dual-processors. Either have all the system processes run on one processor with the cs server on the other. Or split up everything nice and even. You are also going to have to guage very carefully your maximum players. You probably wont be able to bring it up to 20. Also, play smaller maps that wont slow you down as much. Don't try cs_thunder, lean towards fy_icyworld. icyworld is also good because people die quickly, so the server is at its slowest for only a few moments. |
