I just did a fresh installation and when I tried to install kde emerge failed during compilataion due to dependancies. I then ran emerge gnome and it failed too saying it needed the pangoo library.
I downloaded the portage tree to get an up to date version and got the same compile errors when emerging either package. I had also installed evms before, which I saw installs X too. I unmerged X and then emerged kde et gnome and all compiles fine. Does the evms package only do a partial install of X? Looks like it conflicts with the kde and gnome packages somewhere if you install it first. _________________ #! /usr/bin/perl
