I registered with sun and downloaded all the necessary files for the sun-j2sdk ebuild, but when I try to emerge, it says
emerge: all ebuilds that could satisfy ">=virtual/jdk-1.4" (from ebuild / dev-java/sun-j2sdk-1.4.0-r1 merge) have been masked.
What do I need to do? |

Try:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -p sun-j2sdk |

No, in order to make sun-j2sdk you must first manually install sun-jdk or ibm-jdk or blackdown-jdk. |

To get that to emerge you need to do the following
1. Download all the necessary files... Make sure they are in /usr/portage/distfiles. You can get the list @ http://tushar.lfsforum.org/javafromscratch.txt
2. cd /usr/portage/dev-java/sun-j2sdk
3. emerge sun-j2sdk-1.4.0-r2.ebuild
That's it. No need to switch to the ~x86 use flags. Just make sure that you have all of the files that the tushar site mentions or you could have a compile that oes for 2 or 3 hours then craps out. _________________ Boricua Hasta La Muerte |
