I was wondering (I haven't attempted yet, im still reading horribly old manuals online trying to figure out what to do).
I had recently purchased a "Mail Server/Print Server/Firewall" from CompUSA for $199. (Its a Gallant GW500[gallantry.com])
Hardware Specs:
Celeron 633 (Upgradable to P3 1GHz FCPGA)
20GB Hard Drive (Upgradable to >128GB)
64MB Ram (Upgradable to 512MB)
2 NIC's (one 10/100 onboard, one 10/100 PCI)
2 USB Ports, 1 Serial Port, 1 Parallel Port
Onboard Audio & Video
A Cool case & kick-ass LCD
I wanted to use it as a firewall, but then it got me thinking.. thats a little too good of a computer just to run a firewall on, there has to be something else I can do with it.
Before I continue and ramble, is it possible for a computer to be a secure firewall to a network, while running a Web Server and FTP server? |

I was hoping that would be the answer
Are there any recently updated guides/manuals for this particular setup (using 2.4.x kernel, and IPTables). I can't seem to find one.
Thanks again |
