First I open skype, but when I put in my username and password and hit next, it segfaults with the message below.

Sounds like a 32-bit/64-bit library problem... you could see if there are later versions of the emulation libraries available, or, failing that, do the whole 32-bit chroot thing.

Just installed net-im/skype-0.92.0.2 with 'Cyberphone k' USB VoIPvoice phone today and it works fine on development-sources 2.6.9-rc3.

What kind of system are you running it on?
64bit, 32 bit?

I think my segfault problems have to do with the 32 bit emul libraries on the x86-64, but I am not sure..
I wish they offered the static library build version of skype as an ebuild, casue I think that would work better.
Developers:
How about adding a net-im/skype-static for those who cant get net-im/skype to work?
