Up 20 lines or so. The real error is above the part that you posted.

/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.3/libstdc++.la: No such file or directory

Is there a way that i can salvage this install of KDE? or how can i get the ball rolling so it works this time? Thanks in advance You guys are the best :)

If you have upgraded to gcc-3.4 , you may need to do this to fix the error you are getting.
Code:
# emerge libstdc++-v3

Then you should be able to continue emerging KDE.

When i do that i get this

!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy "libstdc++-v3" have been masked.
!!! possible canidates are:
- sys/libs/libstdc++-v3-3.3.3-r1 (masked by: ~keyword)
- sys/libs/libstdc++-v3-3.3.4 (masked by: ~keyword)

That's no problem though, just type:

Code:
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge libstdc++-v3

This should do the trick.
