Could be the version of Libs you have emerged. I have run into this several times and had to play around with them till I found a combo everything was happy with.

Hopefully you have nvidia-glx installed. Try
Code:
opengl-update nvidia

Try the LD_PRELOAD thing in this thread, obviously replacing ut2004 with armyops.

https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=207252&highlight=ut2004+opengl

I get the same message on all unreal engine games and that seems to "fix" it.

Try using an LD_PRELOAD statement before the ut2004 command line. Try either:

LD_PRELOAD="/usr/lib/libGL.so" ut2004

or

LD_PRELOAD="/usr/lib/libGL.so.1" ut2004

Search the forums for more info.

HTH.

doesn't work :(

ok, i resolved this problem (finally :D)

i simply merged (im an NVidia user...)

/usr/portage/media-video/nvidia-kernel/nvidia-kernel-1.0.6111.ebuild
and
/usr/portage/media-video/nvidia-kernel/nvidia-glx-1.0.6111.ebuild

now it works ;) (i think mine was just a non-same-version-problem ;))

enjoy
