is it possible for wine to run windows apps (games ) on my gentoo install on hda from the windows install on hdb? though i dont have windows on hdb now, i did and could never get wine to work , however my hdb is being unused and i miss morrowind and warcraft 3 so i was just wondering if i needed windows and linux to be installed on the same drive or not
also would installing <insert game> like in this thread change anything?
i really dont want to have to do some long elaborate work to resize partitions and reinstall and things of that sort just to get wine working... _________________ ...it must have been very demanding having to learn how to use Microsoft Office, right up there with other lofty challenges like learning how to zip your fly without getting your dick caught. |

In general, games need write access to at least part of their folders (Saved games, profiles, etc) so it depends on what kind of filesystem is on the windows one. NTFS won't do.
Also in general, you can copy the install directory from windows to your linux partition and if it's going to work at all, it will from the start. |

I have Linux on hdb and windows on hda, it doesn't matter which drive windows or linux is on. Be sure to setup the wine config files to reflect this. |
