unreal tournament & spatial fear

hi all,

i attempted to install the spatial fear mod, and their installer fails because it cannot find a ut.xml manifest file which it needs to verify my ut installation. i have found manifest files for both unreali and ut2003, but am unable to find one for ut. my guess is that i need to use the loki installer for this file to be generated, and the loki installer crashes- giving an "installtrap" error.

i have seen this error in the linuxquestions forum and have also posted the question in the liquid_element spatial-fear forum, and have seen no answers.

how do i get the ut.xml file in place? if i need to use the loki installer, how do i get around the installtrap error?
