I'm installing gentoo on an ultra1 from a c,d, and it boots up, give me all the system info, give it a break, tell it boot cdrom and it gives the SILO line and gets me a "boot:" prompt, and I type gentoo, also tried gentoo console=ttyS0 and it hangs both times at "Loading Initial ramdisk..."
I've tried another livecd too, same thing happens. Any idea of the problem? _________________ "I'm too busy doing nothing to care." |

now, I never tried with linux, but netbsd doesnt support the ultra 1 due to an unsupported scsi controller. However I have had issues with alot of the gentoo sparc live cds, I know it is kinda wasteful but I keep around all the versions for the sparc hardware i.e. 2004.0 and so on, so if one doesn't work I can immediately try another. _________________ ~:CK:~ |
