Is it possible to do a netinstall (internet), using boot floppies, on my Ultra 5? I have given up on trying to get the CD to boot.

I fixed the title... And no, you can't floppy boot sparc64 kit because of a PROM bug. You have to either cd or full netboot it. |

Thanks for your reply. Better try to sort the CD out, then. As Debian is the only distro that seems to work in my CD drive, looks like I may have to just have Gentoo on the i386's.

My ultra 5 handles cds just fine, didn't have one problem with the livecd, I would suggest perhaps checking out your cddrive, I also purchased an external cdrom drive for some of the other sparcs, might want to looking to something like that as well. _________________ ~:CK:~ |
