Hi All...
I recently did a checkout of linux-mips CVS which at the time was up to kernel 2.6.8.1 in preparation for loading it on my Qube. However whilst I wait for the patches to become available, I figured I'd give it a whirl on the Indy.
The kernel was cross compilled on my main machine (2x PIII 1GHz, 1GB RAM) and copied over using tar & ssh. Both the current working kernel (2.4.26) and the checkout were compiled the same way using the same toolchain.
However, when I boot linux 2.6.8.1, it gets to the point where it mounts / (EXT3 format), mounts it, but then inexplicably fails to execute /sbin/init. I've tried passing init=... to no avail (both /sbin/init & /bin/bash).
Anyone else struck this? _________________ Stuart Longland (a.k.a Redhatter, VK4MSL)
