Anyone got the scoop on the status of support for Ultrasparc III (non-Cu)under linux/gentoo?
Ultrasparc IIICu ?
Anyone know if the SunBlade 1000's on-board FC-AL controller is supported under Gentoo?
Hows abouts the eri0 ethernet controller?
Firewire Chipset? (any useful, supported, devices out there? I really know little about it) _________________ -Tim Smith |

I have nearly the same machine (750MHz, 1GB RAM, 18GB HD, Elite3D m6) and tried the 2004.1 & 2 live-cd's for 64bit. But as you can see in my separate topic, i had no luck. Immediatly while booting i always get the message "Fast Data Access MMU Miss" and then it ends at the ok-prompt of the OBP.
It would be interesting, if you can try this also.
Bye,
Peter.

Unfortunately, my machine's DVD rom drive doesnt like to boot normal CDs... I'm working to find a compatible SCSI cd rom around (I'll probably end up gutting my SGI Indigo2 for one..) before I'm able to try gentoo. Slowaris9 for the time being.
