Hi,

I would like know what config is required if I want get either KDE or Gnome sessions available in the menu "session" of my X Login screen. Currently, Login Screen is setup with GDM.

What should I do to get the choice between KDE or Gnome when PC boot?

Afaik it is as simple as install KDE and make sure that u copy the kde.desktop file which is given with KDE to the X-session directory: /usr/share/xsessions
Then it should appear in GDM as an option :)

Depending on your needs, you might have a look at the Qingy thread as well. Qingy is a framebuffer login that you can use as an alternative to gdm/kdm/xdm. The big advantage is that it is much faster to startup. I also think that it is cool.

qingy is great and my login manager. but you can always use gdm and kdm which come with kde and gnome instead xdm which sucks.
