Since my screen is awfully dark. Its a pain to watch movies without changing the brightness in mplayer. Tought, having to do that every time i start it is a bit annoying. But I cannot seem to find any way to change in the config file so that it starts with a certain brightness... Anyone know how to fix that?

from mplayer' s man page :
Code:
  -brightness <-100 - 100>
              Adjust  brightness  of video output (default 0). It
              changes intensity of RGB components of video signal
              from black to white screen.

   -contrast <-100 - 100>
              Adjust  contrast of video output (default 0). Works
              in similar manner as brightness.

edit /etc/mplayer.conf and put i.e.
Code:
brightness=70

it should work that way
