I just got a new tv card working under Gentoo but I only seem to be able to get sound from the line-out on the card itself. No problem, I just linked it through to the line-in on my soundblaster live 5.1. Sound now comes through the regular line-out of the soundblaster, but not via the digital out I always use to connect to my stereo system. Is there any way to convince my soundblaster to pass the analog signal through to the digital out?
Or another solution might be to convince xawtv to use ALSA (or the oss layer) since all kde (and for example xmms) sounds will play via the digital out. I tried the option "xawtv -dspdev /dev/dsp" but to no avail. What does work is "cat sount.wav > /dev/dsp".
Anybody suggestions? I'm at a total loss here |
